Happy Friday :D

Next weeks class is all about the cute new set 'Seaside Shore'.

Project #1 is a penny slider card just for a little extra fun.

The sentiment in the track is 'best fishes', perfect for a fishy birthday greeting don't you think?

If you'd like to attend the class send me an email ... Thanks for taking a peek! :D

Farewell 'Swallowtail'

Happy Thursday :D

Next weeks class farewells this fabulous single stamp from Stampin' Up!

Monochromatic cards are so simple but I find them striking.
Without lots of colour to distract the eye, you're drawn to the image as the focal point!

Thanks for stopping by and taking a peek :D

Fry Box Favours

Happy Monday ☺️

One of my DD's had a birthday party this past weekend and I was given the job of making favour boxes!

There were two requirements. They had to be the Stampin' Up! Fry box, and they had to be blue.

What do you think?
Cute blue fry boxes?
I think so! :D

Woodland Birthday Wishes

Happy Monday ☺️

This weeks classes are masculine cards.
I try and do a couple of classes a year specifically for masculine cards. I don't know about you but I always have trouble coming up with cards for men lol.

This card is cased from one I saw by Sandi MacIver. Thank you for the inspiration Sandi! :D

I've used 'Vintage Leaves' and their coordinating framelits to carry on the woodland theme that the embossing folder brings.

I really love this card. It's clean and straightforward but also elegant.
It's also another contribution to:

#imbringingbirthdaysback with 'Balloon Celebration'

Happy Monday ☺️

Today I'm sharing a card that would brighten anyone's day, especially if it's their birthday!

I've used warm, bright Watermelon Wonder to produce a tone on tone card base, adding accents of Pool Party and the fun 'Cherry on Top' DSP.

I also used the 'Balloon Celebration' bundle as no party would be complete without balloons!

Thanks for stopping by and taking a peek ☺️

Dino-rrific!

Happy Tuesday :D

I've been playing with some of my new stamp sets and came up with this birthday card for all those budding paleontologists out there ;D

I used 'Over The Rainbow' to create the lower landscape and 'Watercolor Wash' for the sky. Add a dinosaur and some bones and this is what you get ... Rawr!

Creative Blog Hop!

Happy Monday and welcome to my post for the Creative Blog Hop!

I was nominated by the talented and lovely Cathy Miller. Thanks Cathy! :D
Make sure you click on the link and see the stunning creations Cathy made with the beautiful 'Moon Lake' stamp set. They really are quite beautiful :)

For my blog hop submissions I decided to use 'Butterfly Basics'. I have had so much fun creating with this darling set and coordinating framelits!

It is now officially Spring so that's what inspired my card.
Here's a close up of the butterflies so you can see the different layers ...

I took my cue from the pretty 'All Abloom' paper stack and used Island Indigo, Lost Lagoon and vellum to complement it. Fresh colours for a fresh season!

For my second submission I continued with Lost Lagoon and Island Indigo but teamed it with the yummy Raspberry Ripple. Even though it is retired, I couldn't help using it. I love these colours together!

I

I stamped the 'Postcard' image on Lost Lagoon cardstock followed by some 'Gorgeous Grunge'.
Using the largest butterfly framelit I cut out the butterfly shape to create a negative space. I placed a piece of DSP behind  the Lost Lagoon cardstock so the patterned paper could show through.
I cut another butterfly in Raspberry Ripple, this time keeping the actual butterfly. I heat embossed a netting pattern on it with clear embossing powder. I carefully glued the butterfly into the negative space.
With a piece of natural cotton ribbon, I stamped a sentiment and flagged the ends to create a banner. I stapled it to my card front and added a wee bit of bakers twine to finish it off. I love love love the finished product. It reminds me of a stained glass effect :)

As part of the blog hop we have to answer a few questions and nominate someone who inspires us.
So here goes!

·What are you working on now?

Currently I am working on projects for the East Coast Stampin' June Event. Lots of creating!

· How does your work differ from others in your genre?

Hmmmm, I like vintage and shabby chic looks. I often can't bring myself to go completely "shabby" though! I suppose my work differs from others because I'm a tidy shabby chic creator!

· Why do your create what you do?

I create because it is part of who I am. Like many others stampers, I have always created in one form or another. It's an opportunity to create something unique and to brighten someone's day.
The sense of satisfaction that comes from making something with ones own hands is fantastic. I never cease to amaze myself when I look at one of my creations and say to myself "wow, I made that!". Hearing those words from attendees during a class however is the best of all.

· How does your creative process work?

I find inspiration in all kinds of places ...
I find fabrics hugely inspiring.
Mother Nature of course is full of inspiration too.
If I'm ever "stuck" for ideas I will often take an idea I like (whether it be a layout or colour combination) and create something of my own with it.

Now for the fun part. I am nominating a fellow Kiwi and Wellingtonian - Keryn Campbell. You can check out Keryn's creations here!

Bonza Balloons!

Happy Monday all!

I hope your week is starting well. We have back to school routines and "getting used to Daylight Savings hours" in my household!

I thought I'd share one of the projects for my next class using the fun stamp set 'Celebrate Today'. Balloons make everything so much happier don't they :)

I came across this idea on Pinterest and just had to case it. Thank you Caroline Van Der Straaten for the inspiration for the gift bag!

I wanted to put something in the gift bag so I designed a notecard that doubles as a gift card holder as well. Nothing like being multipurpose! ;)

Class Details :

Wednesday 18th March 1 - 3.30pm & 7 - 9.30pm / Thursday 19th March  7 - 9.30pm.

Branching Out With Birthday Wishes

Hello all!

We're over half way through Winter and I am soooooo ready for Spring! This card is my shout out to Spring ...hurry up and get here please lol :D

In the new Occasions catalogue there is the beautiful set 'Sheltering Tree'. It is similar to a retired one I have called 'Branch Out' which I am using for my upcoming class.

Here's a full view of the card ...

This card is cased from one I saw on Pinterest (of course!) by Silke Ledlow. Thanks Silke for the inspiration!

I've used a trio of pink shades for the canopy of my tree - Blushing Bride, Regal Rose (retired) and Strawberry Slush.
I coloured the button with the new Pink Pirouette Blendabilites. I love how easy it is to coordinate embellishments now!

Thanks for stopping by and taking a peek :D

The 'Happy Birthday' card was a case of a Sandi MacIver card that I tweaked a little.

You're How Old?

Hi and happy Tuesday!

Today's share is a fun card I made using lots of goodies from the new Occasions catalogue.

I've used the Hexagon Hive Thinlit die, teamed with the 'Just Sayin'' stamp set and Retro Fresh DSP.
Did you notice the stamping on the Pool Party DSP behind the hexagons? That's the new 'Hardwood' stamp. It's my "go to" stamp at the moment LOL.

Thanks for stopping by and taking a peek :)

Sale-a-brating With Banners!

Hi and happy Monday :)

Here's card #2 for my 'Sale-a-brate In Style' class.
I've used the 'Banner Blast' stamp set (that you can order for free with orders of $60) and corresponding punch.
The background "sky" paper is from the Sale-a-bration (SAB) 'Sweet Sorbet' DSP pack (another goodie you can earn for free!) and the embossing on the clouds is from the SAB  'Decorative Dots' embossing folder.

Have a super day and thanks for stopping by :)

Sale-a-brate In Style!

Hi there :)

Doesn't the photo above remind you of Spring?

Back in New Zealand the tulips popping up in the Botanic Garden always signaled the onset of Spring for me so that was the inspiration for this card in a box project for my upcoming class.

I've used the 'Sweet Sorbet' DSP (one of the free goodies you can choose from with Sale-a-bration!) to cover my box and to make a coordinating envelope. The images are from the lovely set 'Backyard Basics' which have coordinating framelits so no need for fussy cutting!

I love how this card is so full of dimension yet it lies flat for posting!

Thanks for stopping by and taking a peek :)
