Sale-a-brating With Banners!

Hi and happy Monday :)

Here's card #2 for my 'Sale-a-brate In Style' class.
I've used the 'Banner Blast' stamp set (that you can order for free with orders of $60) and corresponding punch.
The background "sky" paper is from the Sale-a-bration (SAB) 'Sweet Sorbet' DSP pack (another goodie you can earn for free!) and the embossing on the clouds is from the SAB  'Decorative Dots' embossing folder.

Have a super day and thanks for stopping by :)

Sale-a-brate In Style!

Hi there :)

Doesn't the photo above remind you of Spring?

Back in New Zealand the tulips popping up in the Botanic Garden always signaled the onset of Spring for me so that was the inspiration for this card in a box project for my upcoming class.

I've used the 'Sweet Sorbet' DSP (one of the free goodies you can choose from with Sale-a-bration!) to cover my box and to make a coordinating envelope. The images are from the lovely set 'Backyard Basics' which have coordinating framelits so no need for fussy cutting!

I love how this card is so full of dimension yet it lies flat for posting!

Thanks for stopping by and taking a peek :)

SUDSOL Blog Tour - Welcome!

Hello, happy Monday and welcome SUDSOL Members and tour followers alike!!

This is my very first blog tour (squeal!) so thanks for stopping by and taking a peek at my creations. I'd love it if you left me a comment or two as well :)

My first share is a birthday card made with some Sale-a-bration (SAB) goodies.
You've gotta love free stuff right?!

I've used the 'Banner Blast' stamp set and coordinating banner punch. I LOVE these bitty banners. They're so cute and just the right size for stringing along on a card.

Did you notice my embossing on the clouds?
Also a SAB goodie. This time its the 'Decorative Dots' embossing folder.

Then last but not least there's the "sky" DSP ... it's from the 'Sweet Sorbet' SAB Designer Series Paper.

For my second project I decided I wanted to go for a longer leaner look so I made my card base 3 x 6". This meant I had to make an envelope for the card but with my SU! envelope punch board it was a cinch ;)
I used the oldie but goodie Top Note die to shape the top of my card to add some interest. I embossed the Coastal Cabana Top Note shape with the 'Decorative Dots' embossing folder (my current go-to embossing pattern, thanks Sale-a-bration!).

I've used the 'Fresh Prints' DSP Stack and Spiral Flower Originals Die from the Occasions  mini catalogue and teamed it up with the 'You're Lovely' stamp set from SAB.
I cut the flower out with felt (I love that I can cut more than just cardstock with these dies) and it was a breeze to roll up and shape.

My third project is a special one. I have a dear friend turning 50 soon and I made this card for her.
The card base measures 5 1/4" x 5 1/4".

I used the stamp set 'So Very Grateful'  from the Occasions mini and watercoloured the images using my ink pad lids and a blender pen. The colours I used were Primrose Petal, Real Red and Old Olive.
The photo doesn't do the card justice to show you how gorgeous the flowers look coloured in!

I used my Stamp-a-ma-jig to line up the four images.

The central diamond panel is raised with dimensionals and measures 2 3/4" x 2 3/4" (the red square). I stamped (and coloured) the other flower image from the stamp set , in the centre of the panel but most of it is covered up with the "50". I like that just a few sprigs are peeking out though.

I finished off my card with dry embossing, some Raspberry Ripple ribbon and a touch of glitter to give it some sparkle.

That's all from me so thanks for stopping by my blog. I hope you've enjoyed my projects as much as I did sharing them with you :)

An Old fashioned Celebration

Hello and happy Monday :)
One of my favourite sets in the 2013 Sale-a-bration catalogue is 'Feeling Sentimental'. The Penny Farthing bike and the sentiment are part of the set. I thought they would be useful for masculine cards which is something I always seem to struggle with.
There's also an old fashioned telephone box in the 'Feeling Sentimental' set and it reminds me of the TARDIS from 'Dr Who'. I'm not a Dr Who fan but my son is so that stamp is definitely going to come in handy!
The other sets I have used to create the card are 'Oh Hello' and 'Autumn Foliage'.
I love the simplicity of this card and the sense of days gone by.
Thanks for stopping by and taking a peek!

With every $65 you order (before shipping and tax) you get to choose something for free from the Sale-a-bration catalogue!
This weeks classes are showcasing some of the goodies you can choose from ... exclusive stamp sets, vibrant, fun DSP and too cute embellishments!
You'll make 5 mini cards and a gift box to store them (and envelopes) in. Make it to give or to keep for yourself, it might be hard to part with!

Sale-A-Brate In Style

Happy Friday :) Todays post is one of the adorable 3 x 3" cards I made for my next class. It is one of the cute images in the 'Patterned Occasions' stamp set that you can earn for FREE from January 22nd ... because that's when SU!'s Sale-a-bration starts! There are five images in the set and each one is as adorable as the next. I teamed them with the Sycamore Street DSP that you can also earn for free. Cute, cute, cute! Thanks for stopping by and taking a peek at my creations, and whatever you have planned for the weekend, I hope it's a good one :)

Hoot, Hoot, Handsome!

Isn't this guy cute?! This is the last project for my 'Hearts Have It' class. Since all the attendees to my classes are female, I thought a more masculine Valentine's card might be on order.
You could also swap the sentiment out and give it for another occasion, like a birthday.

Thanks for stopping by and taking a peek!

A SAB Sneak Peek!

Fourteen days and counting...
That's how long until Sale-a-bration (SAB) starts!
What is Sale-a-bration? It's a once a year promotion where you can earn goodies for free! Goodies that are in the current catalogue and exclusive SAB goodies that are only available while SAB is on!
Just too tempt you a little, I've made a card using some of the exclusive SAB products that you could get for free.
The DSP, the brads, Organdy ribbon and the stamped flower image, are all exclusives. Aren't they gorgeous?! What I love most is that they all coordinate!
So... did my SAB sneak peek whet your appetite? Maybe just a little ... or a lot?!

'Punch Bunch' Purse Class

Isn't this oh so sweet?!
It's a purse with 3x3 note cards that go inside. Cuteness in a package!
The purse is roomy enough to fit a decent amount of stuff in, including envelopes for the cards. It's not as roomy as a real purse but it's pretty darn good.

For my last workshop I made one of the purses as the hostess gift and of course all the guests wanted one of their own when they saw it. Isn't that the way?!
From that same workshop, the most popular set ordered from the Sale-a-braton catalogue was the cute 'Punch Bunch' set. I thought why not combine the two and make a class out of it, so that's what I did.
I've used the yummy 'In Colour' palette (paper, brads and ribbon) and each stamp from the set got inked up...

Who wouldn't love getting this as a gift?!
Interested in making your own paper purse, class details are below :)

Dates: Wednesday 30th /Thursday 31st March, 7 - 9.30pm
Cost: $20
Email me to reserve your seat!

Welcome Spring! Card Class & PPA32

With the beginning of March, comes the onset of Spring and so to celebrate my next class is Spring inspired. My inspiration comes from SU!'s retired 'Walk In The Park' Designer Series Paper. The colours remind me so much of nature emerging from it's wintry slumber - fresh and delicate, seeking the warmth of the sun!
For this class you will make two coordinating cards as well as this colourful Spring-like notepad delight. Of course you can give the wee notepad as a gift if you want to, but I think it's so prettiful that I'm keeping this one!
Stampin' Up! Supplies - 'Walk In The Park' DSP, 'Whimsical Words', Scallop Circle Punch, Spiral Punch, Embosslits - Beautiful Wings, Corner Rounder.

Circles have it!

Made with 'Vintage Labels' from the soon-to-be released Sale-a-bration catty. A clean and simple card (yes, it's similar to a Christmas card some of you may have received!) but I thought eye catching none the less. This is #3 for my class. Want to make this or the other creations you have seen? Then register for my class!
