Rosettes and Ruffles

Happy Tuesday all :)
I have had a number of requests for a class to make the rosette card I recently posted, so here it is. You can't say I don't listen to my customers ;)

I added a wee gift box to match the card ... just in case you need one!
The rosette is on a belly band that keeps the box closed. It also means that if you want to use the box for something else (for a guy maybe), you can.

To complete this trio I created a card using the new Elegant Bird die in the latest Occasions Mini catalogue. I saw this idea on SU! Shelli Gardners blog and fell in love with it. I had the Elegant Bird die on order so was just waiting for it to arrive so I could start creating with it ...

I love the simplicity and elegance of this card. You could use it for numerous occasions.

Creating With Friends

Hello all :).
Here's a card a friend and I made while she visited today. I Love it!
We used the retired 'Springtime Vintage' DSP to make three rosettes of various sizes. We embossed the cream background to provide some more texture... and of course I had to add some buttons, mmmmm!
Such a pretty card needed a little ribbon so we went for the neutral 'Soft Suede' to tie in with the card stock colour.
Buttons, ribbons, texture ... these are just a few of my favourite things!

Who's That Knocking On My door?

I thought I'd share a little project I have been busy with. I made my own Christmas wreath for the door!
The wreath is made up of rosettes (or Lollies as they are called here) of three different sizes. I added some ribbon and buttons and here's the finished product...
I used the 'Letters To Santa' DSP from Stampin' Up! to make my rosettes. It took me a while to score all the paper but it was worth it, especially since my handy dandy scoring board made the job so much easier. I love it!
This photo gives you a little (that's a hint) sneak peek at one of the upcoming products in the Occasions Mini which will be released next month. Can you guess what it is?

Baby Bliss

Over the weekend I had a baby shower to attend. I have actually never been to one before so I was probably as excited as the expectant mother about it! In New Zealand when I had my children, people just didn't have showers. You waited until the baby was born to give gifts. I would watch American movies with baby showers in them, and they seemed so foreign. But now that I'm in North America I got to experience one first hand (Thanks Shelley!).
This is the card I came up with. I just love it. The whole darn thing is just darling. The cute wee buttons for the drawer handles, the tiny Onsie hanging on the wall... just too, too cute!

Are You Score Savvy?

Do you have a scoring board at home and don't know what to really do with it? Or you know what to do with it but you want to make the most of it and use it to create all kinds of cards, boxes and other creations?
I have come up with a class for people just like you. You'll make two cards (not just your standard rectangular card) and a cute gift box.

Here is Project One...
A Christmas card with a difference. This one was a bit tricky to photograph but if you look at the top of the photo you'll see the kind of fold the card is made on.

Project Two is a gift box. You'll be scoring and making your own box.
But open it up and see what's inside... Dividers so you can add different kinds of whatever you want to fill it with. You'll be making these also.

The last project is what I call a double gate fold card...
If you own a scoring system and would like to learn how to use it effectively, then this is the class for you.
