Fall-ing For You

Hello all and happy Monday :D

Today's post is a custom order I was recently asked to create.
The only specifications; other than being an anniversary card, was for Fall colours.

Fall is a time of rich, vibrant and earthy hues for me so I went for some of the luscious new 2014 - 2016 In Colours from SU!.
Can you spot them? I used 'Hello Honey' (How could I not with a name like that!), 'Blackberry Bliss' and 'Tangelo Twist'. I added some 'Soft Suede' and Gold Glimmer paper.
I love the finished product :D

The sentiment is from the 'Really Good Greetings' set currently available during a promotion and was perfect for what I wanted to achieve.

Thanks for stopping by and taking a peek! :)

Very Valentines

Hello and happy Monday :)

I'm finally able to get onto my blog and post about my next class. It will be in time for Valentines Day ;)
There's three projects - a swing card, a gift box and another card.

I recently had a poll on my Facebook page asking about a possible new class time and I had as many people want a Wednesday afternoon class as a Sunday afternoon class. What I am going to do is run a class on either of those days once a month and see what works best so for this class I will be holding THREE classes:

Wednesday 22nd January 1 - 3.30pm
Wednesday 22nd January 7 - 9.30pm
Thursday 23rd January 7 - 9.30pm

Cost:$20.00

Email to register your spot and remember if you're coming to a Wednesday class let me know what time slot!

Home ... Is Where The Heart Is

Happy Wednesday :)

Today's post is the banner I created as part of the Valentine's class I'm running next week.
I wanted to make something heart related and at first thought to put 'LOVE' in the circles of the banner. My second thought was that if it said something more generic, it could be used for more than Valentines, so I decided to put 'HOME' instead. The funny thing is, when the ladies in my class saw the banner, all but two asked if they could put 'LOVE' instead of 'HOME' on it! I'm only too happy for them to change the sentiment but I did find it very humorous!

To create the banner I used the Big Shot scallop circle and circle dies. The pretty hearts are part of the lovely Valentine's DSP in the new mini catalogue, as is the beautiful ribbon the circles hang from.

The Smallest Packages

Hello all :) As the saying goes, "The best things come in the smallest packages". I can be quite often heard saying this because I'm not the tallest of people! Today's post is the wee chocolate giftbox that is part of my upcoming Valentine's Class. I used the SU! pillowbox die and decorated it with some of the gorgeous new Amour DSP and two tone ribbon from the Spring Mini. The ribbon is so beautiful and easy to work with. Thanks for stopping by and taking a peek and have a fabulous day!

KAPOW Kreative Challenge - KKC01

It has been a while since I have done a challenge and yesterday I thought to myself, I really need to take myself out of my comfort zone and do some challenges. I came across this colour challenge and decided to give it a go.
All I can say is it definitely took me out of my armchair!!! The colours to use were: Poppy Parade, Island Indigo, Old Olive and Wisteria Wonder. I have worked with three colours before but that fourth colour was making my head spin LOL.
My card took me all afternoon to make but here it is...
After a LOT of humming and harring I chose one colour as my focal point. I chose Poppy Parade as it is so striking.I punched out flowers with one of the itty bitty shapes. I was going for a love theme and the flowers reminded me of the crosses when you write "xox".
I was happy with how the heart turned out but I realised I hadn't added any Wisteria Wonder. That colour really threw me. In the end I went for a Wisteria Wonder brad (LOVE the new brads) and card base. Phew, I managed to squeak it in there!
Thanks Carrie for a challenge that really took me out of my comfort zone!

Something Old, Something new, Something Blue...

I said I would share the blue wedding card I was recently asked to create, so here it is.
It's quite different from my red card creation but still really like it.

I used 'Bashful Blue' as my main colour. I haven't used it in such a long time, tending to use my fave 'Baja Breeze', so it was nice to work with something different.
I used the blossom branch from the Easter set in the new mini and coloured the blossoms in with a white gel pen. I had stamped the image twice so I could punch out a heart to add as an additional layer. Getting those branches to line up was tricky. It's not perfectly matched but it is pretty close! I added the teeny tiny pearls to the centre of each blossom and sponged the embossing on the 'Bashful Blue' piece of cardstock to make it stand out a bit more.
Thanks for taking a peek :)

The Queen of Hearts

Lately I have been busy lately with custom orders. I am not complaining because they are one of my favourite things to do. I get to create something really unique and tailored and because they are usually one-off's I get to go to town so to speak !
This was definitely the case with a wedding card I was recently asked to create. The client is a glass artisan and creates stunning modern pieces of art made out of glass. I recommend you check out her site and see for yourself! Needless to say, I wanted to make something just as stunning and eye catching for her.

I created the patterned paper myself by punching out various hearts and pasting them down. I then embossed a pattern onto it to give some texture. Boy did it take some time sticking and fitting all those hearts together! It was worth it though as I love the end result. I heat embossed two hearts, added some gorgeous satin ribbon, glitter brads and glitter paper, and here's the finished creation...
I also handmade an envelo-box to put it in. It's a hybrid box/envelope so the embellishments don't get crushed.

Now I have another custom order Wedding card to make, but this time it's blue. I'll post photos once I've made it. Thanks for stopping by and taking a peek!

Happy Heart Day!

Isn't this wee squeaky fellow cute?
I made this set as a prize for my January 'Thank You!' draw . Every $25 spent = 1 ticket for the draw. So one lucky person has their Valentine's gift giving sorted!
The images are stamped and water coloured. The card is tri-folded so it opens up with three parts to it. The wee box is filled with a surprise (for the winner) but I have made (and sealed it) in such a way that the lucky winner can refill it and use it to give to someone they want to wish a 'Happy Heart Day' to. All supplies are Stampin Up!
Who wouldn't feel loved getting these?!

Class Creations

This is Card #1 for my upcoming class. It is quick and easy (and pink!). It uses the soon-to-released 'I {heart} Hearts stamp set from the January Occasions Mini Catalogue.
Nothing says 'I love you' quite like hearts!
