I've picked you a Bunch of Roses

Ok, I may not literally have picked a bunch of roses as I don't have any in our garden, but I think this card looks like a posy of roses I'd love to give.
This beautiful stamped image is from the 'Elements of Style' stamp set in the new Summer Mini catalogue. I have water coloured (my third water coloured card) and added some shimmer paint to give it a bit of a shine.
I have used several shades of pink to colour the roses (starting with Pink Pirouette, Pretty In Pink, Rose Red, Regal Rose and a hint of Rich Razzleberry) to try and create a more natural look. I've also "aged" the edges of the cardstock with good ol' Creamy Caramel ink. I love the look it gives and it's so easy to do. This is one colour I will miss when SU! retires some of their range in July. Here's a close up:

Water colouring is certainly labour intensive but the results are so worth it. The depth of colour you can achieve is stunning and when I water colour I feel like a bit of an artist. An artist that is colouring in between the lines, but an artist nonetheless!

'Christmas creations' Class

You asked for it, so here it is ... an all day stamping extravaganza to help you get organised and ready for Christmas!
I'll show you how to create 12 beautiful handcrafted cards that are sure to please. You'll also create a gorgeous gift box to package half of them in to.

WHAT YOU NEED TO BRING: You will need to bring your own adhesive to use. I recommend quality products so that your cards don't come unstuck!

If you don't have any, let me know, so I can order one for you and have it ready and waiting at the class. Snail adhesive is $12.12 and Tombow Glue is $6.84. (These prices include shipping and tax costs).

'Anything BUT a Card' Challenge - PPA 26

This is my submission for the latest PPA challenge. I made this cute wee double pocket bag. As I have another friends birthday coming up she will be getting this with matching card and a wee goodie in the other pocket. All supplies are SU!

I used the Sizzix Flower Layers die, layered the flowers, wet them (with shimmer paint mixed with rubbing alcohol) then scrunched them. Once my rose had dried I slightly separated the paper petals to give them a more delicate look. The inspiration was a pink and white card, so I took white to be a neutral (I used Kraft) and SU!'s Razzleberry is kinda pink (I know this could be considered a long shot!) and of course nothing says I love you more than roses! (well, ok, maybe chocolate!).
I am really happy with how this turned out so am hoping the gals at PPA are too!
