CD Scrapbook Album

For those that know me, you'll know that I have been beavering away making items for an upcoming craft fair I am taking part in soon. I have been making gift boxes and bags, book marks, gift card holders, more of my Big Shot Blooms and of course, cards.
At our recent SU! team weekend Carol my up line, showed us a gorgeous scrapbook album she had made using CD folders and a SU! Scrappin Kit. Of course I asked for the instructions so I could make one to sell at the fair!
I didn't have the scrap booking kit Carol used but this is what I came up with. I used my favourite retired SU! paper pack and took my colour palette from it. Another reason for using the 'Walk In the Park' Designer Series paper, is because it includes Baja Breeze - a retired colour that is making a comeback. Yay!!!
Here's a sneak peak of some of the pages inside:

There are pull tabs and butterflies galore and lots of places to write or add photos. You could add a CD of photos to one of the CD pockets or use it as a wonderful keepsake of a special event. The possibilities are endless!

Make Mother's Day Memorable!

My next class is for Mother's Day and I wanted to make something extra special for the extra special women in our lives.
The gift box is an idea I saw at Christmas time by Andrea Walford and have been waiting for the perfect time to make it. What better time than Mother's Day?!
It is oh so cute. It has the beautiful decorated top and you pull the ribbon tab to reveal a drawer that you can fill with whatever you wish!
For the class, I have included four note cards stamped using one of the new stamp sets from the soon-to-be released Summer Mini. It's called 'Water Colour Trio' and it's my favourite stamp set in the catty.
Even with the note cards and envelopes inside the drawer, there's still room for a few chocolates or candies (if your Mum has a sweet tooth) or a piece of jewellery.

Sign up today for my 'Make Mother's Day Memorable' class so you can give your Mum something truly memorable on her special day. (Please note: Cost of class is $20 rather than the usual $15).

The Man Zone

This is the final photo for my upcoming class for the men in our lives. Coming up with a 3D item for guys proved the most difficult! I've decided upon a wee gift box (using my Sizzix 'Bitty Box & Envelope' die) and 4 matching note cards/ envelopes that fit inside.

'For the Guys' cont.

This is the second card for my upcoming 'For the Guys' Class. It's also a sneak peek of an Al la Carte stamp that is in the new Summer Mini. I have several family members that love motorbikes so I'll be getting alot of use out of this stamp. I have embossed the bike image and the black background pattern on the grey cardstock. It's an image from the 'Extreme Elements' stamp set and it reminded me of tyre treads and oil spots.

Supplies: All SU!- Basic Grey, Sahara Sand and Crushed Curry cardstock, black embossing powder, Round Tab Punch and black brads.

For The Guys

For my class next Wednesday I will be focusing on the men in our lives. Tall, short, old or young, they often get over looked in the card area. I have been meaning to run a Masculine card class for some time now but just have never really felt inspired enough to do so.
Lots of products in the Summer Mini (released May) scream testosterone to me so getting a sneak peek of these new goodies was just the jump start I needed to crank out some cards for the guys!
This is the first card I've come up with. I wanted to try out the new 'Rough Type' Alphabet set that I bought in the new clear mount version. I find I don't tend to use alphabet stamps much as they are too fiddly and I find them too much effort for only an average result. Well, all I can say is "NOT anymore!!". This set is going to be well used. I love it and I love the clear mount stamps!
I've also used another fave set of mine - 'Extreme Elements'. I have used them here as a background pattern (means you get so much more use out of your stamps and you get to design one-of-a-kind paper!). Cards for teenagers (especially boys!) are tricky but with the Extreme Elements set SU! have introduced the Extreme Sports stamps to coordinate. It was a given that I would have to get some of them. I chose the skateboarder (only because I hadn't inked it up yet) and set about making a "rough and ready, baggy tee, grubby knee-torn jeans" kinda card. Let me know what you think!

Supplies: All SU!- Extreme Elements, Extreme Skateboard, Rough Type Alphabet (new in the Summer Mini). Colours: Pumpkin Pie (doesn't it make the skateboarder pop off the page?!), Kraft, Chocolate Chip and Always Artichoke.

A.S.I April Challenge

For the month of April I get to come up with our team challenge. I've been giving it lots of thought and this is what I have come up with... a colour challenge!

My inspiration is a carry bag one of my DD's got recently for her birthday. Every time I see it lying around (usually on the floor as it hasn't been hung up) I think how vibrant and fun the designs and colours are in it. I thought with such a wide array of colours and designs to choose from, how can you not be at least a little inspired to create something new?
We all have our "comfort" colours that we turn to so I wanted to take us all (myself included!) out of our comfort zone a little (I can hear the groans from here!).
So there we go fellow team members, our April challenge. I look forward to seeing what you all come up with! :)

It's a Colour Renovation!

Have you heard the big news from Stampin' Up!? They are doing a major overhaul of their colour range!
Come July, we will have a revamped 'Core' range of 40 gorgeous colours.
In addition there will be 5 'In Colours' being added BUT, these new In Colours will be available for two years instead of the current one. How good is that?!
Some retired In Colours are making a comeback, including my all time favourite 'Baja Breeze' - Yay!!!
Five brand new core colours will be making their debut in July too:
*Daffodil Delight (with such a pretty name how could this yellow hue be anything but gorgeous?!)
*Early Espresso (deep, dark and delicious...mmmmmm)
*Cajun Craze (rich and spicy orange)
*Cherry Cobbler (an update on Ruby Red)
*Marina Mist (not too green, not too blue...sure to be one of my new favourites!).
All I can say is "Bring on July!"

And if you haven't checked out the Online Stampin' Up! Clearance rack yet, you might want to do so. Lots of bargains!!
