Rosettes and Ruffles

Happy Tuesday all :)
I have had a number of requests for a class to make the rosette card I recently posted, so here it is. You can't say I don't listen to my customers ;)

I added a wee gift box to match the card ... just in case you need one!
The rosette is on a belly band that keeps the box closed. It also means that if you want to use the box for something else (for a guy maybe), you can.

To complete this trio I created a card using the new Elegant Bird die in the latest Occasions Mini catalogue. I saw this idea on SU! Shelli Gardners blog and fell in love with it. I had the Elegant Bird die on order so was just waiting for it to arrive so I could start creating with it ...

I love the simplicity and elegance of this card. You could use it for numerous occasions.

Interested in attending the class? Details are below:

Wednesday 22nd February/ Thursday 23rd February, 7 - 9.30pm. If you have a score board, bring it along!
Cost: $18.00

Hoot, Hoot, Handsome!

Isn't this guy cute?! This is the last project for my 'Hearts Have It' class. Since all the attendees to my classes are female, I thought a more masculine Valentine's card might be on order.
You could also swap the sentiment out and give it for another occasion, like a birthday.

Thanks for stopping by and taking a peek!

The Hearts Have It

Happy Monday :)
Today's post is one of the projects for my 'Hearts Have It' class. It's a gift tag or decoration or whatever you want it to be! I have used the bee-u-t-ful Everyday Enchantment DSP from the Sale-a-bration catty. This heart showcases all sides of the DSP and I love them all!

Class details:
Wednesday February 8th / Thursday February 9th, 7 - 9.30 pm.
Cost : $15. Email to register.

With Sympathy

Today I have a sympathy card to share with you that I recently made for a friend who lost her father-in-law. I wanted to make something masculine and for some reason, trees represent masculinity to me.
I've used a retired set (Trees Three) and stamped the main image three times, in various shades of grey. Each time I moved the image slightly to create a shadow effect. The Stamp-a-ma-jig was the perfect tool for the job!
I sponged the tree line in shades of greens and added some splotches with white craft ink. I thought they added a slight ethereal touch. I stamped the background with my 'Well Worn' background stamp and the rest is pretty straightforward. I'm really pleased with the result.
Thanks for stopping by and taking a peek, and whatever you have planned for your weekend, enjoy it!

ASI January Challenge

Happy Friday!
Today I have my ASI team swap card to share with you.
The lovely Sandi chose the theme and it was 'Masculine Valentines'. As soon as I heard that my mind went to blues. Isn't it funny how we tend to associate certain colours to things!

I went for something pretty straightforward this time round. I've used Bashful Blue, Island Indigo, Pear Pizzaz (DSP) and Lucky Limeade for my colours. The Island Indigo piece of card stock is raised with dimensionals to create a faux window effect for the heart. I've embossed the heart (to match the embossed hearts on the inside of the card) and added two of my favourite things... yes a button and baker's twine!
Here's a closer look...

Creating With Friends

Hello all :).
Here's a card a friend and I made while she visited today. I Love it!
We used the retired 'Springtime Vintage' DSP to make three rosettes of various sizes. We embossed the cream background to provide some more texture... and of course I had to add some buttons, mmmmm!
Such a pretty card needed a little ribbon so we went for the neutral 'Soft Suede' to tie in with the card stock colour.
Buttons, ribbons, texture ... these are just a few of my favourite things!
Thanks for stopping by and taking a peek :)

A SAB Sneak Peek!

Fourteen days and counting...
That's how long until Sale-a-bration (SAB) starts!
What is Sale-a-bration? It's a once a year promotion where you can earn goodies for free! Goodies that are in the current catalogue and exclusive SAB goodies that are only available while SAB is on!
Just too tempt you a little, I've made a card using some of the exclusive SAB products that you could get for free.
The DSP, the brads, Organdy ribbon and the stamped flower image, are all exclusives. Aren't they gorgeous?! What I love most is that they all coordinate!
So... did my SAB sneak peek whet your appetite? Maybe just a little ... or a lot?!

Some 'Wheel'ly Nice Cards

I know it's a cheesy title for the post but I couldn't help myself!
Today's post is all about wheels. Not the sort you find on vehicles ... the ones you find in a stamping room!
I'd been asked about a class using the SU! wheels and here it is.
The card above uses the music note wheel. I wanted to give this card a theatrical feel so tried to make the front look like a show programme with tickets. The music notes were also rolled on the envelope and the inside of the card...
I love the music note wheel. It is great to add some interest to a background and works for all kinds of occasions. I love using it on vintage cards also.

Next up is a card using a jumbo wheel. It's the 'Wedding Words' wheel in the new mini. I have rolled it with Versamark ink and heat embossed it. I've used the new heart Embosslits also to complete the romantic feel.
Here's a close up of the sentiment...
The three roses to the left are handmade so you'll learn how to make these in the class. Because the roses are bulky, a handmade envelope is required. Not to worry though, here's one I made earlier ...
A perfect fit!

Lastly is a card using the 'Take A Sip' wheel. I had to get this wheel when I first saw it... it's all about tea and anyone that knows me, knows I like tea!
This is the inside of the card. The little pocket is big enough to put a teabag in! I love it! Just the thing to "perk" someone up when they aren't feeling the best.

Class Details:
Wednesday 25th January / Thursday 26th January 2012, 7 - 9.30pm
Thursday 26th January 10 - 12.30pm
