Say it with Flowers

There's an expression where I come from that is "Say it with Flowers" - to let someone special know you're thinking of them. Since it's currently winter that is a little tricky to do with real flowers so I have made a paper flower bouquet to thank a special someone who has helped me out.
I found a wooden bag at a local store that I have decorated and made a matching card for (see top photo). I haven't written in the card though because the person getting this floral bouquet might want to re-use parts of it for someone else, and if so, there's a card already made to match. What I have made for my friend instead, is a teeny tiny card with a pewter friendship token in it that my friend gets to keep. I've made a cute wee box to hold her card and gift too (see photo below). The nice thing about this set is that the box containing my friend's gift fits into the larger one with the spare card.
With all these flowers, I'd say ... that it's quite a bouquet!
All supplies (excluding the wooden box) are Stampin' Up! and I have to give credit for the card idea as I saw something very similar from Leadership.

Forget-me-not Birthday Book

Ok, if you are anything like me, if someone's birthday isn't written down, you forget it. I have wanted to do something about this for the longest time and this gorgeous book is what I have come up with.
Each month has a dedicated page where you can write down people's names next to the appropriate day in that month. I have it sitting in my workroom opened at the current month so at a glance I can see who I need to make cards for and when I have to get the gifts sent by. What could be better than remembering important dates in such a lovely way?!
I have used the Sizzix Big Shot Scallop Square to cut out each page and decorated them with the new (and SO delicious!) 'Sweet Pea' paper range. I also cut out a scallop square from acetate to provide some protection for the cover. And the wee owl? He's from the latest stamp set 'Love Bandit'.

Class Make & Takes

For my upcoming class these are the remaining things you'll be making and taking home with you. We'll be using some of the 'In Colour' range of paper and ink and the new 'Vintage Vogue' stamp set. The matchbox is made with the Big Shot as is the embossing of it's band. You can give them as a matching pair or separately, the choice is yours!

Beary Cute!

With lots of birthday's fast approaching I have begun work on the cards and loot bags (well, boxes in this instance) people will be wanting. When I first saw the 'Build-a-Bear' products I knew I had to use them for party favours . Last weekend while visiting my wonderful up line, I cut the bears with the SU! exclusive Big Shot dies that she owns (Thank you Carol!). I then got the fun job of dressing them!
The loot boxes are two Big Shot Box #2's joined together and decorated. I found some wee pencil canisters at a local store (they contain 8 colouring pencils) so I decorated those to match the bear and his "box" and stamped some 'Build-a-Bear' images from the coordinating stamp set to make note cards that the children can colour in and use.
The 'Build-a-Bear products are just so beary cute!!

Sweet Treats

Who wouldn't feel happy to get this card for their birthday?!
These cards are made with SU!'s sweet treat cups. They are a fun way to jazz up your card and to give a little extra to that special someone. I have made the card in such a way that the recipient pulls the tab and voilĂ  they have candy!
Both cards are made with the new 'Sweet Centre' stamp set - in the latest Occasions catty, just to show how versatile these cups can be.
We'll be making the sweet (excuse the pun!) birthday card at my upcoming class so register now!

'Anything BUT a Card' Challenge - PPA 26

This is my submission for the latest PPA challenge. I made this cute wee double pocket bag. As I have another friends birthday coming up she will be getting this with matching card and a wee goodie in the other pocket. All supplies are SU!

I used the Sizzix Flower Layers die, layered the flowers, wet them (with shimmer paint mixed with rubbing alcohol) then scrunched them. Once my rose had dried I slightly separated the paper petals to give them a more delicate look. The inspiration was a pink and white card, so I took white to be a neutral (I used Kraft) and SU!'s Razzleberry is kinda pink (I know this could be considered a long shot!) and of course nothing says I love you more than roses! (well, ok, maybe chocolate!).
I am really happy with how this turned out so am hoping the gals at PPA are too!

MY VERY 1ST CHALLENGE - PPA24

Lots of Demonstrators like to take part in challenges to take them out of their "card making comfort zones" and to have a bit of fun. I have always looked at them at thought "one day". Well, that day has arrived and here is my first challenge attempt. I don't know if I have got the "rules" right but enjoyed making this card anyways. I just love the owl from the new 'Love Bandit' set and knew I wanted to use the woodgrain heart with the tree. The PPA challenge helped me put them all together. Thanks PPA for the sketch!
All supplies are SU!
Thanks for taking a peek :)

Roses are... pink

I was thinking about ideas for my next card class and since a lovely customer of mine is having a birthday over the weekend I wanted to come up with something that I could use for both.
I came across this lovely number on Heidi Bak's blog (see link on right for runningwscissorsstamper) and updated it by using one of the new 'Well Scripted' stamps from the latest Occasions mini catty. The roses are actually embossed so those at my card class on 21st January will get to use the Sizzix Big Shot to make this card.
Hope you like roses Gail!

Happy Heart Day!

Isn't this wee squeaky fellow cute?
I made this set as a prize for my January 'Thank You!' draw . Every $25 spent = 1 ticket for the draw. So one lucky person has their Valentine's gift giving sorted!
The images are stamped and water coloured. The card is tri-folded so it opens up with three parts to it. The wee box is filled with a surprise (for the winner) but I have made (and sealed it) in such a way that the lucky winner can refill it and use it to give to someone they want to wish a 'Happy Heart Day' to. All supplies are Stampin Up!
Who wouldn't feel loved getting these?!
