PPA 35 - Anything BUT a Card Challenge

I always love the 'Anything BUT a Card' challenge at PPA especially if I have a project on hand. This coming weekend is my DD's and my last ice skating lesson and I wanted to make something to thank our very patient and wonderful teachers. What's the big deal I hear you say, most Canadians take ice skating for granted. Learning to ice skate was a huge deal- having just moved here from NZ means we don't, (where there are only two ice rinks in the whole country!) and believe me, I NEEDED lessons!! My DD's took to it like a duck on water but I was one of "those" students. Needless to say, a pretty Gift Box Thank You was in order.
These baskets are made using the Big Shot 'Fancy Favour' die. You cut away part of it to create the lower front. Pretty cool huh?! Not my idea though. My wonderful Up line shared it as an idea she had seen at Leadership convention and I just had to try it. Each basket holds two milk cartons snugly and don't they look ever so cute?

Supplies: All SU! except for ribbon scraps - Fancy Favour Big Shot die, Beautiful Butterflies die, 'Sprinkles' stamp set, 'Thank You Kindly' stamp set, Boho Blossoms punch, Scallop Border punch, 1/16" Circle punch

Cupcakes anyone?!

Just when I think I have made all the birthday cards I need, one of my children gets an invite to another party! The latest is our neighbour's son who is turning...hmmm... yep, 9!
The reason for the large number 9 on his cupcake? Well, it seems he wants everyone to know exactly how old he is going to be so I thought we could show we know exactly how old he is.

I recently made the more "girlie" cupcake card for my niece and was pleased with how it came out. I didn't have any pink ribbon to put on her card so I made my own with the new Pinking Hearts Punch in the latest mini. I think it turned out sweet.
I just love the brads as the sprinkles on each cupcake and it is a great way to add some colour to a project.
So, does anyone feel like a cupcake? Do you want pink or blue?!

Supplies: 'Simple Birthday Thank You' stamp, various brads, Pinking Hearts Border Punch

Butterfly Thank You's

I like to give each person that places an order with me, a wee Thank You note card to show my appreciation. I use a Post-It sticky note on the inside so the recipient can reuse it if they wish.
I try to make something different each time and these are my latest creations. I am just "tickled pink" (excuse the pun!) with how they have turned out. Let me know what you think! :)

Supplies:All SU! - 'Great Friend' stamp set, Designer Series paper and a variety of pink inks.

Easter EGGtravaganza!

It is officially Spring now and with the warmer weather comes Easter! I have been busy creating these beauties for my upcoming Easter EGGtravaganza class next Wednesday night.

I tried my hand at punch art and came up with my chick. I think he's ok for my first attempt but think I need to practice a bit with the punches! The gorgeous wee birdhouse ( Can you believe it is made using the latest Milk Carton Big Shot die?!) is a case from Dawn's site. I didn't have all the punches Dawn used so I altered it to suit what I do have. It just think the birdhouse is SO adorable and what a wonderful reminder of what awaits us with Spring. Of course the fact that it holds chocolate morsels is an added bonus!

My third and forth creations (see below) are more traditional in nature but still gorgeous. As I cut the leaves for the birdhouse house I looked at the negative space I had left and it reminded me of a card I had seen here so another case was in order. The photo doesn't do the leaves symbol justice as it is raised on dimensionals and gives a lovely 3D effect. Of course I had to make a wee gift treat holder to go with the card so I cut out two tags from the Big Shot 'Two Tags' die and stuck them together. I decorated the front and enclosed a bag full of (what else?!) Easter eggs. It is such a classy way to give chocolate!
So, if you are wanting to make these yummy projects, sign up for my class...Wednesday 31st March from 7 - 9.30pm. The cost is $20 and all supplies are provided ...even the eggs!

March Team Challenge - Oh Baby!

Recently a friend had said she was organising a Baby Shower for a good friend of hers. I asked if she would like me to come up with some ideas for Invitation cards. When I saw this super cute card on Julie Davidson's blog I knew I had to make it as a sample. Aren't they just adorable?!
The stamp set I used is from the latest Occasions Mini Catty as a Hostess set. In addition, for our March Team Challenge we have to create a children's card (for either a boy or girl of any age). I just love these Onsie cards and thought my fellow team members might like them too. So girls, go badger the postie...yours are in the mail!
All supplies are SU!

Welcome Spring! Card Class & PPA32

With the beginning of March, comes the onset of Spring and so to celebrate my next class is Spring inspired. My inspiration comes from SU!'s retired 'Walk In The Park' Designer Series Paper. The colours remind me so much of nature emerging from it's wintry slumber - fresh and delicate, seeking the warmth of the sun!
For this class you will make two coordinating cards as well as this colourful Spring-like notepad delight. Of course you can give the wee notepad as a gift if you want to, but I think it's so prettiful that I'm keeping this one!
Stampin' Up! Supplies - 'Walk In The Park' DSP, 'Whimsical Words', Scallop Circle Punch, Spiral Punch, Embosslits - Beautiful Wings, Corner Rounder.
