'Everything Eleanor' Embossed And Beautiful!

Happy Tuesday :)
First I'd like to apologise for the quality of the photos posted today. It has been bucketing down all day and trying to take photos in these conditions always ends in photos I'm not terribly happy with.
That being said though, I wanted to give you a glimpse of something I have been working on with new catalogue stuff!

I have used the gorgeous 'Natural Compostion' DSP as my backdrop. I've teamed it with Early Espresso and Pink Pirouette. I embossed the swirl on the Natural Compostion DSP and embossed the flowers on Crumb Cake cardstock. I then watercoloured the flowers in using Pink Pirouette and Regal Rose ink, then cut them out.
For those of you not keen on cutting images out (you know who you are! LOL), it is only four flowers... Here's a closer look at the end result...

Isn't it pretty, pretty, pretty?!

I decided to make it a wedding card but this card is stylish enough for many occasions.

School's Out For Summer!

Happy Thursday :)
I'm writing that today to remind myself of the day as much as welcoming readers to my post. I keep thinking today is Friday...
Today was the last day of school for elementary schools and in my mind, school always finishes on a Friday! LOL.
Today's post is a look at the wee notecards I made for my DD's teacher. I bought the stamp set 'From Your Teacher' as it comes in French (my DD is in French Immersion) and I thought it would be something useful for her teacher to use. I made the notecards to accompany the set and was feeling pretty good about them until I showed them to my DD. She said "Mum, they're not in French". It hadn't occurred to me at all to have the sentiment in French!!! I quickly rummaged through my stamp stash and managed to find a small "Merci" that I then stamped under the English sentiment... not 100% ideal but a crisis was averted. I like to think of the notecards as bilingual now!
DD wanted to make the card that accompanied the gift and she did a fantastic job!!! Her teacher loves bumble bees and here's what DD came up with... all on her own!

Positives and Negatives

Hello all :)
Recently I posted a wedding card that I had made for a class. It used the cute heart DSP from the new 'Patio Party' set that you see pictured here. I had used my Labels Framelits and cut out the Label shape (this is called the positive piece). I was left with the piece you see above (called the negative piece). I knew I could use it for something so I didn't throw it out. And here's what I came up with...
I apologise for the poor photo quality! I wanted to give you an idea of the layers that I used to create this beauty. I've used Baja Breeze (still love it!), Whisper White and a hint of Not Quite Navy. I love the fresh clean look these colours create when teamed together.
Thanks for stopping by and taking a peek at my creation...I trust you will have yourself a lovely day :)

The original idea for this card came from Leanne Pugliese and I couldn't resist casing it! Thanks Leanne for sharing your creativity!

Dear Dad

Happy Wednesday all :)
Today's post was a little tricky to photograph. The card wouldn't sit level for me to take a decent photo so I resorted to lying the card down!
This is one of the card you'll be making at my 'Dear Dad' class next week. They are masculine cards inspired by the upcoming Fathers Day.
I have used the retired 'Well Worn' DSP. I love the colours and rugged look of it. For those of you that don't need a Fathers day card, you can easily swap out the "DAD" for "SON" on  the front of the card.

Father, Dad, Brother, Son...

Happy Saturday all! Today I'm sharing one of the cards for the 'Dear Dad' class. I've used the handsome 'Open Sea' stamp set and teamed it up with the new 'Midnight Muse' cardstock and 'Cherry Cobbler'. I have distressed the edges of the focal point to add some texture and to give it a more "rugged" feel LOL.
I have left the front of the card blank from a sentiment so you could use it for an masculine occasion.
Here's a closer look at the focal point...
I can hear the ladies that attend my classes groaning that they will have to hand cut out the anchor! It's only one anchor ladies!!!
Whatever you have planned for today, I hope you enjoy it.
